Unused Azure AD Connect accounts "On-Premises Directory Synchronization Service Account"

Playing with #Azure Privileged Identity Management‎ made me aware of two active accounts from old or failed AAD connector installations from way back.

And we don't want to leave something with that potential for misusage laying available in our AAD. 

Summer holiday and nice resources to help you stay out of the sun

Here in Norway, the summer holiday is about to start for a bunch of people. We know from experience that many IT Pros have the danger of self-combustion if they get hit by direct sunlight. So to make sure that doesn't happen I have collected some nice resources for you to spend time on your IT ninja skills instead of self-combustion.

EM+S Overview of documentation

This blog entries started as a "note to self". There is a lot of information out there and when needed you can of course Google it on Bing, but sometimes it nice just to browse a page looking for inspiration or have a place to go where you know the information are of high quality. So I created this list with links to EM+S product homepage and official documentation. I also included links to playbooks for ATA, CAS and AAD. I love the playbooks, they are a great source to test and learn. Microsoft Virtual Academy also have some nice classes for EM+S related learning

Weather Forecast

May will be cloudy in Bergen, but this time it’s not bothersome clouds with rain, but cool clouds for better IT solution.

The forecast shows total cloud covering the 19. of May from 9:00 until 15:30, and the centre will be around “Vil Vite” and the free Lumagate seminar

End of support announcement of DirSync and Azure AD Sync

Microsoft announced the deprecation schedule of Windows Azure Active Directory Sync (“DirSync”) and Microsoft Azure Active Directory Sync (“Azure AD Sync”) on April 13. 

This means that all support will end on April 13 2017 for DirSync and Azure AD Sync.

The tools will of course continue to work after this date, but you will not get any updates or support from Microsoft after April 13, 2017.

Extending the number of cpu cores in Azure

As default, every customer in Azure gets twenty CPU cores.

 

Creating new computers will quickly need more than this. My experience is that most of the small computers still needs to be run as “Medium” you will then use two cores. That gives you ten VM’s in total.
